We are pleased to announce that Fidel Molina Luque, member and director of the Research Group on Society, Health, Education and the Culture of Care (GESEC), has received the Second Honorable Mention in the XXI “Fermín Caballero” Short Essay Award in Social Sciences, granted by the Castilian-Manchegan Association of Sociology (ACMS-FES), for his essay entitled “LA SOSTENIBILIDAD HUMANA NO TIENE EDAD, ¿O SÍ? Profiguración, relaciones intergeneracionales y contrato social”.

The award ceremony took place on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., in the Centre for Interpretation and Initiatives in Barajas de Melo (Cuenca), the birthplace of Fermín Caballero. The event brought together representatives of the ACMS, members of the jury, and local authorities in a session dedicated to recognizing excellence in contemporary sociological reflection.

This distinction reinforces the research trajectory of GESEC, a group devoted to promoting and conducting sociocultural research in the fields of education, health, and quality of life, as well as in the study of socialization processes, identity, gender, and interculturality. With an interdisciplinary approach that integrates sociology, social anthropology, economics, health, psychology, and education, the group works to produce critical and applicable knowledge in response to today’s social challenges.

The award received by our director highlights the scientific and social relevance of GESEC’s research, its international projection, and its commitment to the dissemination of results.

Our warmest congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
