We are pleased to announce the I Conference of the EffiHealth Chair (AstraZeneca Chair in Innovation and Health Efficiency), a forum designed to share knowledge, experiences, and advances in the healthcare sector, taking place on March 19th.

This conference holds special significance for our group, as the EffiHealth Chair is directed by Dr. Marta Trapero-Bertran, our colleague and a prominent member of GESEC. Under her leadership, the event has become a benchmark for addressing efficiency and innovation challenges from an expert and committed perspective.

Key Themes of the Conference

The meeting will address fundamental challenges of the current health system, such as:

• Pricing for combination therapies.

• Training in uncertainty and advanced economic evaluation methods.

• Applied innovation and current challenges in the healthcare sector.

Recognizing Talent

During the event, the second prize will be presented to UdL nursing student Ivet Oliva Olivares for her 2025 Bachelor's Thesis (TFG), supervised by Gloria Tort Nasarre.

Her research stands out for its high social value, proposing a health education program for newborn care via video consultation, specifically designed for mothers and fathers with visual impairments. The project combines tele-nursing with adapted materials (such as audio descriptions and Braille) to ensure the autonomy and safety of parents, advocating for more inclusive and equitable health services.
